For those who may not know this, Twitter is one in a long line of so-called 'microblogging' tools that have sprung up recently. In 2001, I actually wrote a very small script to do the same for my personal web page, although my concoction never made headlines. It was buggy, it was slow, and it didn't connect to AIM, but on my little web page, it was the biggest thing since the <BLINK> tag, the hit counter and the yellow 'Under Construction' gif. Remember that one? Sure you do.

Week 16, 2007 Spyware and spam, phishing and Trojan horses. They are bugs, and we pay dearly for firewalls and anti-virus programs to ward off this the plague of the internet age. But it won't be long before we will pay as dearly for having a piece of malware creep in on our hard disk. The despicable tricks of the hackers are in fact developing into much-coveted products.
