Bookseller by training. Inexhaustible source of knowledge and inspiration for Lab Agents and others: in 2001, Computerworld named Preben one of the ten most influential people in the world of Danish IT. In 2002, the respected business magazine Børsens Nyhedsmagasin named him most innovative Danish IT personality of the year. Preben originally wanted to study psychology, but chose to apply his native psychological insight to foreseeing the coming significance of the personal computer instead—by founding DanaData, the first and largest distributor of PC’s in Denmark. Preben went on to found TDC Internet, long Denmark’s largest internet provider.
He spends his free time tinkering with an old Jaguar; owns an almost complete Frank Zappa collection and a codfish lamp. Music—preferably live—is a precondition for his best thinking, and he considers the tie a tourniquet cutting off circulation to the brain. Preben’s endless list of awards and honors includes The Association of Danish Engineers’ IT Award for 2003.
